Adaptive technologies are helping students get ahead in their education. Technologies like word prediction software make students type in a quicker and more effective manner. When it comes to students with disabilities, there are a lot of technologies there to help them. I remember in my first couple years of school, a disabled boy in a wheelchair named David was always in my class. He was unable to speak and could barely move even his hands. He was given a computer that he would press buttons in order to communicate. Some challenges, that may occur with adaptive technologies is that is may glitch or mess with the students work. I don't see technology being perfect in the near future.
I learned a lot while making my webpage, since it was my first time. I really liked how simple it was, but it also felt to user friendly. Sometimes I felt like I could place thing exactly where or how I wanted them. Next time I may look into more complicated templates. msmckernan.weebly.com
I actually missed our last class so I didn't do the new Diigo assignment, but I really enjoyed using it. I can actually see myself using this website in the future to collaborate with other teachers.
I am not sure if technology will ever be perfect or glitch free in this arena, but I do think making it more user friendly would really help a student with a disability.
