The podcast discusses teachers using blogs to accomplish the professional responsibilities I'll have as a teacher. It's a good way to connect with other teachers to share stories and idea to use in the classroom.
When in the Technology Sandbox a lot of pieces of technology looked like they'd be effective in the classroom. The Smartboards seem like they will be the most useful in an Elementary School classroom. It's the perfect way to present information to the student in a way where they can interact with the information given to them. It's easy to use and has a bunch of different features that will be helpful to them. The 3-D printer also had some features that could help a special needs classroom, like the brail dice, which was pretty cool.
Here's my project, I made an Inforgraphic:
The website looks easy to use but it is kind of an eyesore (no offense), but then again simplicity is important for young kids in 1st grade.
ReplyDeleteYour infographic is very simply designed and arranged, which is perfect for your target audience of 1st graders. The pictures are engaging and supplement what you are saying in the text. Overall, I think it was an interesting decision to use an infographic to list classroom rules as opposed to using Word or another word processing software. I tend to think of infographics as being used for much more complex information, so what inspired you to use this type of tool for this purpose?
ReplyDeleteThanks for you comment! I used an infographic just to try out something new really. I had never really heard of them so I was just playing around with it and since I want to teach Elementary School I figured it would be a good way to display my rules.
DeleteI like your infographic! I made one as well, which age group are you targeting this toward? It can go in every single classroom actually! I would have dropped the explanations of the rules because they seem concise, but you know how kids are with their creative ways, and it may make the page look bleak.
ReplyDeleteMy infographic is targeted for 1st graders, the little pictures say 1st grade but maybe I could have put it in a better location. I agree that the explanations seem a little extra but you're right, it would have looked a little bleak. Thanks for your input!!
DeleteThe infographic you created is a very fun and unique way for young students to understand and learn the classroom rules. Putting the grade level on the infographic can help other people such as parents, other teachers, or observers of your class know what age level these rules are for. With younger students do you believe that you can create other infographics to help them better learn, understand, or process information being taught in the classroom?
ReplyDeleteYa I actually really enjoyed making this infographic and I think there many other things that can be presented this way. We could make infographic for science, math, and any other subject really. You'd just need to decide what information you want to present. Thanks for your feedback!!
DeleteYour infographic is really cute! I like the design and the colors as well as the pictures. I also like the simplicity of the three categories--I might recommend trying something like a rhyme or alliteration on the bolded titles to make it catchier. Was this created in Word(or another word processing software) or a photo editing software like Photoshop, and if the latter what type of software have you found is your favorite?
ReplyDeleteI really like your rhyme/ alliteration idea! I actually used an infographic website to create this and it was super easy. I really liked how simple the website was to use and I would 10/10 recommend it. Here's the link: https://venngage.com/
DeleteThanks for your advice!!
