I have used MS word my entire, educational career. I used it to write papers as a student, and I'm pretty sure my teachers would use it to create worksheets and tests. MS word is my go to Microsoft program for all my school work. I feel like it is the easiest to use, but that there is also a lot more to it than I know. I learned a lot about it in my computer class in middle school, but I forget certain elements because it was so long ago.
My teachers and I have never used someone else's work that I know of, but when it comes to my future students I will make sure they know the consequences of not using their own work. It's never worth it to use someone else's work, if you don't understand an assignment, you just need to ask the teacher for help. You could get in so much trouble for using copyrighted material as your own. I would encourage my students everyday, so that they didn't ever feel like they needed to cheat to succeed. When it comes to teachers using other materials, I feel like with the free use guidelines they should never run into any issues. They just need to be smart about how much of a textbook or magazine they are photocopying.
In my classroom I would try and prevent cyberbullying, hacking, and privacy issues. These three issues were all brought up in Chapter 11, which made me see the importance of each issue. To prevent cyberbullying I will teach my students the consequences of posting inappropriate and rude comments. I feel like once students know how much people are affected by things said to them online, they will be safe and kind. When it comes to hacking, I will make sure my students have good protection software to keep viruses of their computers. Also, to make sure their privacy is maintain, I will help them figure out strong passwords to keep people out of their online accounts. These a the three basic issues with students going online, so to take care of these first seems like a good plan.

#1 tech talk
I believe the thing that most influences teachers to use technology is because of teacher preparation accreditation and because of how much it improves their lesson plans and presentation. It's required for almost every teacher to be able to use and understand technology because it's the 21st century and almost everything is online. Also using technology has improved teachers abilities to plan their lesson and teach for almost every learning type. It's also extremely important for students to use technology in the classroom because it helps them to engage more and as well as communicate and collaborate. Sometimes teacher aren't able to give each student as much attention as they need or challenge them as much as they can be challenged, that were technology come into to play. If students are given online resources it can help skyrocket their education. They also can use technology to talk to other classmates and collaborate on projects and homework, it's a very effective way to make relationships and gain communication skills.
ISTE standards are a great way of making sure every teacher is prepared for technology use in the classroom. as well as that internationally everyone is on the same page. One standard that makes me happy is that teachers are meant to encourage students creativity and their learning through technology. Because with or without technology it's always important to try and push students to be there best. One thing I'm not sure I can do yet is design a lesson plan through the use of technology. I'm hoping this class will give me the information I need to be able to prepare my classroom according to these standards.
To be a "digital native" means that you grew up with technology therefore you have a better understanding of it all. I have seen differences between me and my teachers, because most of the time students had to help the teacher figure out computer problems. I feel like it definitely put an obstacle in the way of our learning because somedays everything wouldn't work and it would take the whole class to fix it. I feel like technology is constantly changing so it's possible that my students will have to help me as well, but hopefully we will keep up with the new technology and understand better because of our good foundation.

#0 My first post!
When it comes to technology, I'm far from an expert. I understand very well the technology I use everyday, but I don't actually know that much. I know the most out of everyone in my family so everyone comes to me when the TV isn't working or their phone keeps freaking out but it's always been simple, common sense solutions, like "plug it in" or "restart it". I like finding out new things about technology and how things work. I hope to one day be very literate when it comes to technology.
I hope to learn a more in-depth understanding of technology so that when I'm a teacher, I know how to operate and incorporate technology in my classroom. I believe this class will help prepare me for what I'll need to know in the future. I don't want to be the teacher who is anti-technology because I most likely won't have a job for very long. I would like for this class to make me comfortable enough, so that I can be confident in my future classroom.
I found out I'm an active, intuitive, and visual leaner. Which, when I read the descriptions, makes a lot of sense. I like to be doing something and seeing my solutions forming. I don't do well when a teacher is just talking at me. I find it very hard to concentrate and actually absorb anything they are saying. When it comes to global vs sequential learning, I think I like to do whatever will be faster. If I can just jump to the answer, I will, but sometimes I need to go step by step to get to a solution. I enjoyed this quiz because I think it will help me in the future.
